Welcome to episode #243 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast. Seth Godin is a national treasure. He's more than a Marketer's Marketer, he is a business thought-leader and change agent. This past week marked a new chapter in Godin's dynamic career. Rather than take a handsome advance from a major book publisher, the best-selling business book author (each of his 13 published books have been best-sellers and collectively have been translated into more than 30 languages), published his latest effort, Poke The Box, on his own book publishing imprint, The Domino Project (powered by Amazon). Godin is also a professional speaker (he was named one of the top 21 speakers for the 21st century by Successful Meetings Magazine) and entrepreneur (Godin was the founder of interactive marketing company Yoyodyne, which Yahoo acquired in 1998). He currently runs Squidoo.com along with The Domino Project. BusinessWeek magazine called him, "the ultimate entrepreneur for the Information Age," and if you have not read such books as Purple Cow, Permission Marketing, The Dip, Tribes and Linchpin, you are doing a disservice to your professional development and the evolution of your business. Enjoy the conversation...

Just flat out enjoyable. Thank you both.
Really cool show.
Great interview. Seth is the future (and the present).
Also enjoyed the acoustic version of the heat of the moment - who is this from?
Superb podcast!
As said by Godin, failure is always an option. It is not through certainty but through failure that we evolve towards success. The funny thing is that the philosopher Karl Popper had this thought for sooo long and even in the field of philosophy he was perceived as simply being just wrong!
It was a delightful listen, Seth is by far one of the greatest thinkers of our times, it feels refreshing to listen to an actual conversation between two colleagues instead of a boring Q&A session with a predefined list of questions. Everything was close to perfect, with the exeption of the intro and outro, something went really wrong there ;)
Great stuff guys.. full kudos for the effort to share & inspire = Poking!
What a time to be alive; 10 years ago one couldn't imagine having access to 2 of today's top minds re social networking, publishing, authors, "out of the box" thinkers, etc...
Thanks for the insightful interview with Seth Godin, Mitch. I've already subscribed to the Domino Project. As he mentioned, "If you are failing, you are doing something right". Paraphrasing of course, but on the same idea.
What a terrific podcast! Great questions/answers. It's nice to see Seth following his own advice and starting a new venture. Failure *is* an option. Failure isn't fatal but inertia is.
I do love what you guys do but the song at the end was the greatest surprise gift in the podcast. Thanks Mitch.
Mitch, I enjoy your podcasts very much! This one, with Seth Godin, came at a great time for me as I am contemplating several ideas for future projects. Your interview with Seth was a call to action for me.
Happy to help. Seth inspires me to take action all of the time.
This was a very great pod cast. I think there was a lot of inspiration tid-pits. Poke the box seems pretty interesting to look into.
