HR Manager


The ideal candidate will have a can do attitude, be flexible and be prepared to roll their sleeves up. In addition to this, you must be comfortable working in a highly creative environment and have an understanding of the challenges that this brings.


  • Implement HR strategies and policies
  • Build & maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (Partners, Directors, Managers & Employees)
  • Provide HR advice to managers and employees in line with employment legislation - ensure compliance with company policies & procedures and keep up to date with employment legislation
  • Work with the Senior Management team to respond to employee retention and engagement needs
  • Responsible for day to day compliance to work place policies
  • Manage the “well-being” and satisfaction of the staff
  • Raise and ensure compliance to discrimination, performance management, absence management & employment law policies and requirements
  • Manage employee relations, complaints & investigations, advise on procedure and discipline in line with legislation and company procedure
  • Manage all maternity and paternity leave applications
  • Manage absences and identify any performance issues relating to absence
  • Monitor, access and manage the benefit entitlements for staff
  • Manage processes around training, pay equity and other HR related needs
  • Manage the employee appraisal process and ensure all staff receive comprehensive and effective evaluations
  • Identify external training providers and manage all administration of all training provided to staff
  • Advise & assist managers with recruitment campaigns - job descriptions, person specifications & interviewing
  • Manage recruitment process from job post to offer and onboarding
  • Manage the Montreal office - facilities and suppliers with the help of the Administrative Assistant
  • Manage and mentor the HR coordinator in Toronto and the Administrative Assistant in Montreal.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • University education
  • CHRP certification a plus
  • At least three years relevant HR experience (in similar industry)
  • Bilingual a must written and spoken
  • MS Office
  • An interest in advertising, marketing, internet / technology
  • Office management experience (an asset)
