QA Engineer

Opportunity Overview:

Twist Image is currently looking to add a member to the Quality Assurance team. The primary role of the QA Engineer is to provide support during the development lifecycle through creation and execution of test plans, and validation of cases against functional requirements on Client deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining functional, performance and regressive test plans and all supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with the tech lead during the planning phase for designing regressive, smoke and complete test plans
  • Logging and maintaining bugs with steps to reproduce, severity level and suggestion of possible solutions using the in-house defect management tool
  • Use a variety of verification tools to identify abnormal behaviors of projects
  • Reviewing, understanding and validating business requirements, functional requirements and technical specifications
  • Creating accurate effort estimates of work required
  • Database testing: validation of structure and storing of information
  • Social media testing when required (Facebook. Twitter, Google +, etc.)
  • Mobile application testing on multiple devices
  • Multiple browser, Flash and ActionScript testing
  • Validation of all tracking elements (Google Analytics, WebTrends, etc.)
  • Reporting to the QA Team Lead on progress based on QA metrics in order to gauge project success and site-launch readiness
  • Making recommendations regarding innovative testing methodologies, testing systems and tools to capture software defects
  • Working closely with all members of project teams including, but not limited to, members of the Creative Department, members of the Client Service Department and members of the Technical Department.
  • Follow the departmental processes and standards
  • Validate that all software standards are met

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science is required
  • 1+ yrs experience in software and/or program testing of small and large scale websites
  • Knowledge of Defect Management Tools is required
  • Experience with using multiple Internet Browsers is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products is required
  • Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA concepts, metrics, methodologies and documentation standards
  • Practical knowledge of agile and test driven development is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of tracking testing is considered an asset
  • Experience with CRM systems is considered an asset
  • Experience in Automated Software Tools is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of SQL, MySQL, Sharepoint, XML, Flash, AJAX, Facebook Connect, Twitter is an asset
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks within a tight timeline is considered an asset
