Top 10 Digital Thinkers

Who do you think really "gets" (whatever that means) the digital channel? Who understands what is happening, where it's going to take us and how it will change the face of marketing, advertising, communications, media and publishing?

Taking a cue from Hugh McGuire's Blog post, Canada's Top 10 Digital Thinkers?, let's open it up to the world and create a list of people we all admire, respect and turn to when things change, get disrupted or go digital. It's not just about being able to build a great website or being smart enough to have a best-selling non-fiction book (although those people do get plenty of accolades). There are Bloggers, Professors, Software Developers, Thinkers, Doers, Podcasters, Entrepreneurs, Twitter tots, Authors, Journalists and more who have and provide insights that are shaping the way we think about the new world.

Go ahead, list them below... who do you think are the Top 10 Digital Thinkers in the world today?

Alexander van Elsas (http://vanelsas.wordpress.com) always has a level headed and well thought out perspective on what tech changes really mean to every day life.

Dan Zarella (http://danzarrella.com/) has lately done some good things in terms of taking a scientific look at the workings of social media.

You're too much a nice guy to nominate yourself, so I nominate Mitch Joel.

Happy Valentine's Day (can you feel the love?)

I nominate Todd Maffin and Chris Brogan; I always pay attention to what they are pointing at, and they are both lovely fun boys. Oh, and of course, the talented Mr. Joel. : )

Dan Zarella is a great choice as he has really expanded everyone's understanding of the importance and influence of the Retweet, among other ideas. No list of Top Digital thinkers would be complete without the inclusion of Peter Kim. (http://beingpeterkim.com).
