There's nothing better than a hot cup of coffee on a Sunday morning and some stimulating video.

On a recent episode of Charlie Rose, author, educator and Internet activist, Lawrence Lessig, sat down to discuss his latest book, Remix - Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy. They also have a very compelling conversation about what's happening online, how it changes everything and how, in the end, Lessig is moving all of this towards a shift in Government (check out his latest project: Change Congress).

It's about 38 minutes minutes long and worth every second: Charlie Rose - A Conversation With Lawrence Lessig:

    Excellent interview.

Other than the fact that I spent 90% of my time staring Lessig's forehead, I thought the copyright discussion was very powerful.

Creators need to understand the importance of managing their copyrights.

Yes, common sense needs to play a role. If someone wishes to share their copyright license with the community that is fine. Unfortunately, everyone has a different interpretation of reasonable and fair use.

Reasonable use often skews toward the direction of a persons needs.

I often say to young artists that if your copyright is not worth anything, than why is everyone working so hard to take it from you?
