Welcome to episode #79 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast. It seems like I've had a flurry of great conversations with the who's who of the Digital Marketing landscape, and this week is no exception. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Debbie Weil - author of The Corporate Blogging Book and Blogger over at BlogWrite For CEOs when we both presented at Webcom Montreal last week. This conversation is all about how corporations are leveraging Blogs and how far we've come in such a short period of time. The topic of online social networks, privacy and information is babbled about in two audio comments, so please feel free to add your voice and thoughts to the community. Enjoy this conversation...

Here it is: Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast - Episode #79 - Host: Mitch Joel.

Please join the conversation by sending in questions, feedback and ways to improve Six Pixels Of Separation. Please let me know what you think or leave an audio comment at: +1 206-666-6056.

    Hi Mitch,
Thanks for playing my audio comment on privacy for the support of my upcoming podcast. Just a quick note to say the URL of my blog is http://ngo2point0 (I am in the process of changing it to http://www.consciousimages.org following your advice to use the same name everywhere!!
    Love the show

I agree absolutely that private companies are allowed to set whatever policies they want (within the law, anyway). I don't like Facebook's TOS, so I never joined.

I don't think that pointing out possible privacy issues and other consequences is necessarily fear-mongering or an attempt to get us all to isolate ourselves in caves. The world, physical or virtual, is a dangerous place. That doesn't mean we should lock ourselves away, but it *does* mean we should take reasonable precautions and be aware of risks so that we can make informed decisions.

There *is* a certain irony in the fact that the government is posting a warning about social networking sites, when one concern those of us in the US have is that our government can demand all that information from US-based social networks pretty much at will.
