Seth Godin Action Figure - The Marketing Gift With A Free Prize Inside

A Seth Godin action figure? Why not? Archie McPhee is now selling the Seth Godin Marketing Guru Action Figure for $8.95 (no, I am not kidding). It comes complete with a purple tie, Mismatched socks (the place where you can only buy socks in threes and they are all mismatched) - Purple Cow not included.

I love the website copy for the Seth Godin Marketing Guru Action Figure:

"Imagine having your own personal marketing guru you can go to for advice and guidance. You could pay millions of dollars for consultants, but why not just get the Marketing Guru Action Figure? Marketing genius and famous blogger Seth Godin serves as the model for this 5.375" plastic action figure with his trademark mismatched socks and business casual clothes. Each figure comes with a free gift and the Little Book of Marketing Secrets. It's rumoured that if you want an insight into what your customers want and how they'd like to be communicated with, you can rub Seth's bald head and all will be made clear."

For those who spent all of their money on the Jon Bon Jovi action figure, you can always pick up Seth Godin's latest book - Meatball Sundae - which is in-stores now (I'll be picking up my copy this week).

I used to think that a person knows they've "made it" when they are being made fun of on Saturday Night Live. Now, it's clear, that having your own action figure is the true sign of greatness.

Get your action figure today: Seth Godin Marketing Guru Action Figure.

UPDATE: Looks like Seth Godin's latest book, Meatball Sundae, is only shipping in the next 48 hours (or so) and will be available by the New Year... sorry for the confusion.

That would go so well with our Albert Einstein action figure...

I'm tempted to get one. If it came in a special book bundle or with with a Mitch Joel double pack I would get one for sure.

Mitch, do you know what's Seth perspetive over this? I hasn't posted anything yet on is blog

  • I think Seth (like me) is probably just happy that he doesn't look like Lex Luthor :)

An action figure that was supposed to be me, but looked like Lex Luthor instead would scare me... Lex really did brand bald people in a not-so beautiful way :)

Now, I guess I have to concerned that my action figure will not look like Seth Godin's action figure (although it would be a marked improvement).

Outch, major grammatical mistake in my last comment. (I instead of He)

Lex Luthor is such a nice guy, I can't see the problem with all the bald action figures looking like him.

They did capture Seth looks, not only with the clothing, but also with the easy going face. Do you know what might have been the motivation for McPhee to do this figure (on of many in the "Best of marketers" serie?)

Looks cool. I'm kinda tempted to get one too.

I think another thing it goes to show is how strong a personal brand can be (and how much of a difference it can make). I don't think anyone in the past would have thought of having an action figure modeled after a marketer, but Seth has just been such a significant figure, that it's not that much of a surprise.

Will share this on my blog as well. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Mitch,

I recieved my order for Meatball Sundae on the 19th from Chapters so it must be available at least from them.

It is a great book - as usual for him.

That is hilarious--I heard about it on Twitter and thought people were just joking. Silly me.

Hmmm...perhaps I should purchase one as a companion to my Nancy Pearl Deluxe Librarian Action Figure ("with amazing push-button Shushing Action!")

This is hilarious! Too bad it wasn't out for Christmas, it would have been a best seller!

  • I love how a Seth Godin action figure causes a bunch of comments.

Derrick is right, this does speak to the personal brand of Seth. I think it's also important to note that this is a niche product :) Not many people outside the Marketing - Business book space are going to pick up on this... and I think that's the magic of it.

Also, if Simon is right, I need to pop into the local book store and grab my copy of Meatball Sundae.
