Media Hacks Audio Podcast #36 Is Now Live

Episode #223 of Six Pixels of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast is now live and ready for you to listen to. This is also episode #36 of Media Hacks.

We're finally back with a new episode of Media Hacks. Chris Brogan and Hugh McGuire join me for our semi-regular chat about all things media. In this conversation, we look at everything from AOL's acquisition of TechCrunch to the value of data and web analytics. In the mix of that, we hit on the usual topics of publishing, marketing, advertising, mobile, tablets and more. We also have a chat about Yahoo and why they now consider Facebook such a huge competitor. Things are moving fast and faster. Enjoy the conversation...

  • Thanks for the awesome Media Hacks episode, I always enjoy listening. I wanted to make a quick comment about the use of analytics to track social media influence. Adobe's acquisition of Omniture a while back has in my point of view, really accelerated the analytics landscape and although I am not sure the perfect tools exist yet, they seem to be heading strongly in that direction. The recent update to SiteCatalyst targets the use of Social Media to a slightly higher level, which is great news for those of us who have to report ROAS (Return On Ad Spend) or demonstrate ROI to their clients. Ultimately, I believe that Adobe is very strongly positioning itself by integrating analytics models from the beginning, to the end of the content generation process. Those who adopt these technologies and hone in on the sweet spot of their niche areas, will have the advantage of their competitors.

Adobe has posted a webcast and guide called "What is the Value of Social Media?" http://www.omniture.com/offer/642?offer_version=7&cms_site_lang=1&s_osc=24263&&s_iid=24062&ct=omniture.com&cp=lead%20acquisition

Here is more information on the latest release of SiteCatalyst

Full Disclosure: Although I use SiteCatalyst, I am in no way affiliated with Adobe, just a fan of the technology and where the marketing, seo, sem and web analytics industries are going. Thanks for all of the valuable insights you continually provide to the community.
