Media Hacks Audio Podcast #28 Is Now Live

Episode #202 of Six Pixels of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast is now live and ready for you to listen to. This is also episode #28 of Media Hacks.

In prepping for the launches for both Trust Agents and Six Pixels of Separation business books, Chris Brogan, Julien Smith and I decided to hold half-day events titled, Building Trust In A Connected World Summit. This past week, we celebrated the last event of this mini-book tour in Salt Lake City, Utah. The night before the event we recorded (in person) this latest episode of Media Hacks... and hack away we did. Everything from privacy and the iPad to digital out-of-home advertising and the proximity Web. As you have come to expect, Media Hacks is not safe for work, but it is chock-full of passionate debate and conversation about Social Media, technology and the changing face of Marketing. Enjoy the conversation...

This is one of the best media hacks yet. Nice job. I always look forward to these. Mitch, I think you're right about the world being in a state of transition in regard to media. It is very exciting and their are huge opportunities for forward looking people.

You guys need to remember the industry you're in (social media/marketing), the lifestyle you're living (in planes): that's still rare. I've travelled outside my country 3 times in my life. I still see myself as a citizen of the world (& Australian & ethnic background). I read & correspond (email, twitter etc), I know & use 5 languages & have a feel for their different cultures.

There are so many businesses I see/use everyday that have no social media, no web presence, no nothing. I reckon they're still profitable. They're still open, busy, taking money at the till, growing to take over the shop next door. (Yes, Australia has had freak circumstances allowing it to ride out the recession pretty well so far ... touch wood).

Whilst you may be living the future, I can't really believe it's the future for everyone. All 6,000,000,000-odd of us, criss-crossing the globe in aeroplanes? The environmental implications are a nightmare!

BTW, the rest of the podcast was fun to listen to: that's just the bit that got me.
